ISBN: 9780142411186
Publisher: Sleuth Speak
Summary:
"It was only a few weeks ago that Aphra Connolly's life changed completely. She had been living a quiet existance at her father's secluded island resort until Seth Mulo turned up, stole her heart - and provided information that led to her mom in Seattle. But the reunion isn't quite what she expected.
Aphra's mom, Natalie, doesn't seem happy to see Aphra; and Natalie's partner, Joe, insists that Aphra go home. Even worse, Seth shows up, only to ask her to return the ring he gave her a few weeks ago. At least Natalie's hunky neighbor is sympathetic. But when Joe is found dead at a nearby coffee shop, Aphra discovers her whole trip to Seattle has been based on a lie. And now someone just might be trying to kill her..."

Review:
After I read Death by Bikini, I knew I had to read the rest of the books by this author. Death by Latte picks up right where the last book left off - almost immediately. I really think that the teen mystery genre has been ignored for a while. There is so much room for growth and this author has been the perfect intro to getting interest in the genre again. It makes me wish for more!
I read some adult mystery books in the past, and this series is really just leaps and bounds from those stories. It has the element of romance as well as some semi-realistic mystery. You end up truly caring about the characters - enough to root for them and hope for the best. The titles are a little hokie, but it pretty well describes the book.
I would absolutely recommend these books to any teens looking for a good, easy mystery. The story is so light and fun that it's almost a book you can finish in a day. I'm definitely off to find Death by Denim - if I'm lucky enough to get it :).
